Nose aesthetics (Rhinoplasty) surgery is one of the most applied aesthetic operations all over the world. The nose is the first organ that draws attention when people look at the face, in the middle of the face. For this reason, it is one of the most frequently performed organs.
There are two types of patient groups in rhinoplasty. One of them is the patients who are not satisfied with the shape of the nose, and the other is the patients who have problems in both nose shape and breathing and want both problems to be corrected in the same surgery.
What is the age limit in rhinoplasty?
After the age of 18, it is more appropriate to have an operation in order to complete the development of facial bones in nose aesthetic operations.
Is the season important in rhinoplasty?
It is possible for the patients to have surgery at any time, regardless of the season, as long as they comply with the issues specified by their post-operative physicians.
Open technique or closed technique in nose surgery?
Open technique rhinoplasty is a technique in which the entire nose is reached by entering through a small incision made at the tip of the nose, and the surgery is performed by seeing the entire nasal skeleton under direct vision.
In the technique called closed rhinoplasty, no incision is made from the outside of the nose, and the tip of the nose and the back of the nose are shaped with the incisions made from the inside of the nose.
Whether the surgery will be performed with the open or closed technique depends on factors such as the patient's nose defect, which technique the surgeon is more experienced with and getting good results. Here, the choice of technique should be left to the surgeon. should not be forgotten.
Nose Aesthetic Surgery Process:
1. Immediately after the operation, thermonasal plastic plaster is placed and the patient is taken to the room.
2. For the first 12-24 hours, the patient is hosted in our hospital under surveillance.
3. Ice treatment is applied under the eyes and around the nose for the first 24 hours as a precaution against edema and bruises on the face.
4. On the 5th or 7th day of the surgery, the previously placed silicone splints are removed.
5. On the 7th day after the operation, the skin sutures at the tip of the nose are removed and thin nasal strips are attached to the nose. These bands are removed after 7 days.
6. Nasal crusts are healed with intranasal drops for 1 month after surgery.
What Should Patients Pay Attention to After Rhinoplasty?
1. In the first week, we want our patients to rest without working.
2. One should not lie on the nose, care should be taken not to let the water touch the upper part of the neck while taking a shower. The hair should be thrown back and washed in a hairdresser's way and water should be carefully kept with the head tilted back.
3. In the brushing process, the teeth should be brushed lightly without applying pressure to the teeth.
4. At the end of the first week, the patient can start work with the bands on his nose.
5. Our patients who have undergone rhinoplasty for 2 months should not use any glasses, including sunglasses.
6. If the surgery is performed in the summer months, they should avoid exposure to direct sunlight, especially during the hours when the sun's rays are perpendicular.
